Creating a Luxury Bridal Hair Website for Joanne Alice Hair
An Isle of Man web design project where the little details made ALL the difference...

You know when you come across a business and immediately think, ohhhhh, we can make something really special here!!
Well that was me with Joanne Alice Hair!!
Jo is an incredibly talented bridal hairstylist here on the Isle of Man, creating the kind of wedding hair that makes you stop scrolling and have a proper little nosey.
Her work truly speaks for itself, but I wanted her website to do a whole lot more than just display the beautiful hairstyles she's created, because her approach includes SO MUCH MORE...
When someone is trusting you with their hair on one of the biggest days of their life, they're not just choosing someone who can create a gorgeous updo. They're choosing someone they trust, someone who understands their vision and someone who makes them feel like they're in very capable hands.
And THAT was the feeling I wanted to bring to life.
So, naturally - like always - I got a little obsessed with the details.
Shocking, I know 😂
First impressions matter, and so does everything after them...
Before I start designing any website, I want to understand everything about the business behind it!
Not just what services are being offered, but who they're for, why someone would choose them and what needs to happen between a visitor arriving on the website and deciding to get in touch.
With Jo, we were creating a website that reflected the luxury, care and attention she brings to her bridal clients.

I wanted someone landing on her website to feel excited about the possibility of having Jo as their stylist, but also completely at ease about what booking her would involve!
After all, a beautiful website might catch someone's attention, but a thoughtful experience is what helps them feel confident taking the next step.
And if you've ever planned a wedding, you'll know there's already enough to think about without having to work out what a supplier offers, whether they're the right fit or how on earth you're supposed to book them.
So we made those things a priority and they're pretty damn clear throughout!

Now, let's talk about the words. Because they're doing a LOT of work too
One thing I'm particularly passionate about is making sure a website actually speaks to the people it's trying to attract... Sounds obvious, doesn't it?
But you'd be very surprised how many websites tell you absolutely everything about the business and almost nothing about what it's going to feel like to work with them.
And for bridal services, that feeling is incredibly important.
So rather than simply listing hairstyles and prices, we focused on helping brides understand the experience... The care that goes into planning their wedding hair, the consideration given to their dress, veil, hair type and the overall look they're imagining, the calm, professional presence they can expect on the morning of their wedding - all those little things that make Jo's service so much more than someone turning up with a bag full of hair products!
And then there's the little thing called actually getting booked!
Ahhh, my favourite part 👀
I've said it before and I'll say it again...
A website shouldn't just look bloody gorgeous. It should make life easier for the business AND the people using it!
One of the things we thought carefully about was how brides would explore Jo's services and decide whether to enquire...
We wanted them to have enough information to feel confident, without overwhelming them with every possible detail before they'd even said hello.
So we created clear pathways through the website, and transparent pricing so they know straight away if this is the right fit for them.
Not everyone who visits your website is ready to book there and then. Some people are still exploring, comparing suppliers and figuring out what they need. And that's absolutely fine!
The job of the website is to help them take the next step that feels right for them and give the information they need to make that decision - whenever they feel ready to!
Butttt, what happens AFTER someone enquires?
Now, here's where things get really interesting.
Because building Jo's website was only one part of the project!
We also worked on her Dubsado setup, bringing together the enquiry process, booking information, proposals, contracts, payments and the wider client journey.
The bit I love most about projects like this...
It's seeing all those little pieces come together.
The design, words, services, information, the way someone moves through the website and the feeling they're left with afterwards.
Each decision might seem small on its own, but together they create something that feels completely considered - and that's what I want for every business I work with.
Not a website that simply ticks the "Yep, we've got a website" box - we're not about that life here please and thanks!
Something they're genuinely proud to send people to, that makes their business look and feel like the brilliant business it already is and something that makes it easier for the right people to recognise that too!
For Joanne Alice Hair, that meant bringing a luxury bridal experience to life online, from the first impression through to the all-important enquiry.
And for me? Another excuse to obsess over typography, tiny details and how people behave on websites.
Honestly, living the dream. 😂
Here she is in all her glory...
Fancy a website that does your business justice?
If you've got a business you're bloody proud of, but your website hasn't quite caught up, I'd love to hear about it!
Whether you're starting from scratch, outgrowing your current setup or ready to give your business the digital home it deserves, we can create something that looks the part AND works beautifully behind the scenes in your business.
Based on the Isle of Man, I design websites for service-based businesses across the Isle of Man and UK 🥰
I'd love to hear from you!
